About us
My name is Martin Labie and I am the proud owner of the ten fingers behind the keyboard of Dragon Quill Translations! I grew up in Mons, where I studied translation (master in specialized translation studies, magna cum laude) before moving to Ghent and, eventually, Brussels.

I have always been fascinated by writing and languages. Foreign languages, of course, but also and mostly French, my mother tongue. Thanks to my diverse professional and private life, I have had the opportunity to practice my working languages on a daily basis: French, English, Dutch, Spanish and Portuguese. As a matter of fact, beyond my activities as a translator, I have also been teaching French and translation in different schools.

While I am trained to specialized economic and scientific translation, I mostly thrive with literary works in the broad sense. Storytelling is my passion. I produced my first text at the age of 6 (I cannot say it has aged well…) and I have been writing ever since. Travel diaries, articles for the student magazine I was co-editing, short stories contests... I have always kept my quill sharp. In 2021, I was lucky to see one of my texts published in the Revue nouvelle.

During my free time, I always enjoy a good comic book or a compelling novel or narrative video game. My little stories always stick to me!
